Dana has her BA in Education and her MA in English and Fiction Writing. During her graduate creative work, she became an expert collaborator, an intuitive, well-researched reader and literature analyst, and a keen and thoughtful peer critique provider. She has enjoyed working with authors through Query Buddy Editorial for over five years, and she's worked in the education field for over seven years.
As a professional educator, Dana has a unique and ever-evolving perspective as an editor. Through professional learning, time spent in the classroom, and close examination of and work on literary curriculum, Dana has developed an expertise in the art of effective and immediate feedback on creative written work that is both encouraging and solution focused.
In addition to teaching and fiction editing, she also serves as a #RevPit Editor, an essay editor at Empowerly, and a critique partner to fellow authors. She has over five years of experience as an agented author and CP, making her intimately familiar with the traditional publishing world.

Pal Package: Query Letter Critique | $25
Choose the Pal Package and get in-line comments/edits on your query letter via a Google Docs document. A short critique will be included on your edited document as well for a summary of overall feedback!
Buddy Package:
Query + Pitch Critique | $40
The Buddy Package includes a critique of up to 2 Bluesky post-length pitches/loglines (consider these your elevator pitches) as well as the query critique provided in the Pal Package. All edits/feedback provided will be through Google Docs.
Posse Package:
Query + First 5 Critique | $55
Choose the Posse Package and receive the query critique provided in the Pal Package as well as a critique of your first five opening pages. In-line comments will be provided as well as a brief edit letter containing general feedback and editorial recommendations.
Besties Package:
Query + First 50 Edit | $150
The Besties Package includes a query critique, one logline critique, and detailed editorial recommendations for your manuscript's first fifty pages. An edit letter will be provided via email, and all in-line comments will be posted on the Google Doc.

A secondary read-through of your revised 50 pages is available upon request and at an extra charge.
Partners Package:
Whole Manuscript Developmental Edit | $20/1,000 words
The Partners Package includes a full developmental edit on your manuscript. Feedback will come in the form of a 2-4 page edit letter highlighting developmental recommendations. It will be provided via email, and any in-line comments will be posted on the manuscript Google Doc.
